I love traveling with Hobbes. He is pretty easy as far as a cat goes. Sometimes he sits on the armrest between the seats and watches everything. But, mostly he sleeps under the back seat. When I make stops he comes out to see what is going on. This was true as I drove around Fort Donelson in Dover, Tennessee. I stopped to take a quick picture at one of the overlooks. Jeep running, and both keys in my purse. I have one of those vehicles that you only need to have the key on you to start the vehicle. So, Usually, I have one key in my pocket when I am traveling alone. Well, somehow this little eight-pound tabby stepped on the door lock and locked me out of the car. So while I am trying frantically to get into the car by any means possible poor Hobbes is meowing at me through the window.

Nothing left to do except swallow my pride and call 911. Most embarrassing call I think I have ever made. A Dover police officer came by and after a few attempts, we were able to get the door opened. I kept apologizing….he said I was not the first. But, this was the first time he had heard of a cat locking its owner out. So THANK YOU Dover, Tennessee Police. You are awesome!

I have to admit that the look on his face in these pictures looks like he did it on purpose….Hope not. Lesson learned. Keep key in the pocket!!
