Salem has something for everyone. If you are just interested in history there is a lot here. If you are interested in Witchcraft then you will find that also. You see all kinds of tourists walking around Salem. Lots of family activities and great restaurants. We took in many historical sites. We were wanting to learn about how the Salem Witch Trials came to be and the mass hysteria that lead up to them in 17th century Massachusetts. The Salem Witch Museum has a very nice interpretive show. We also visited the Witch House. This house was the home of Judge Jonathan Carwin. This is the only structure still standing with ties to the Witch Trials. One thing we learned on our tours is that nobody was burned at the stake. This was mostly done in 17th century England. The memorial to those that were hanged is touching. People still leave flowers and mementos. I of course had to have my picture taken with Samantha from Bewitched.
