The Capital building in in the heart of downtown Columbia. It is impressive with its copper dome and large granite columns. There is so much history surrounding the building. One of the most interesting things I found was that there are large stars placed on the outside of the building. This is where Canon balls hit the building as it was being attacked during Sherman’s March to the Sea. Inside you will find beautiful woodwork and intricate stain glass windows. The grounds around the building are beautifully landscaped and just as nice to walk around.
